Ornithology by ~musical-nymph:iconmusical-nymph:

Birdcall in the April rain is more than you or me.

We always whisper in the morning light
as if the demons outside the door might
hear our secrets, but they’ve been replaced
by sparrows and thrushes who sing us
untranslatable songs.

Later, earthworms will crawl out
of their flooded realm, searching for asylum.
Their dead bodies will outline the pavement
and the birds (noisier than ever)
will devour this life once from my garden.
The narcissi will shine like children.

Beating down in Gregorian imperfection,
these torrents uproot trees and overflow rivers,
displace deer and slaughter Spring,
wash away the residue from the edges of my heart
so that I might start anew.

Unaware of anything but your foot against mine,
this room smells of black tea and day old candle wax.

Outside, the rain spirals on in fractal repetition.

This is lovely, but it isn't quite at the level of your more recent pieces. While the sensory details are very strong and the subject of the poem is interesting, I didn't get any emotional reactions from this -- and those are what you are best at.

Sorry dear. Good work still, though.

You were right about the stars: each one is a setting sun.

Have I ever told you I love you? <3 ^_~

This is fave-worthy. I'm in love with this. I might even make a desktop based upon it. (If I do, I'll show you of course.)

It's one of those pieces that make me feel as though I'm experiencing nostalgia but I'm not. Fake memories might seem paradoxical but I think they happen all the time. The more history you learn, the more threads interconnect. And the more passion you have for the world in general, the greater your memory becomes. I think that's why I remember so much. Thank you. ^_^
